Alastair qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2000 and worked in mixed practice briefly prior to undertaking a pathology-based PhD within the neurosciences unit at Cambridge. Following on from this, he completed a residency in veterinary pathology at Cambridge, gaining additional experience as part of the residency within the VLA and at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket.
Alastair obtained his fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2009, and since 2008 has been working at Beaufort Cottage Laboratories, Newmarket. His interests are in all aspects of equine diagnostic pathology, comparative pathology and neuropathology. In 2012 Alastair became a partner in Rossdale & Partners.
