Margo Macpherson received her DVM degree in 1990 from Michigan State University. She completed a residency and Master’s degree in Equine Theriogenology at Texas A&M University. Margo spent time at the University of Pennsylvania and in private practice in central Kentucky after leaving Texas.
Margo is presently an Associate Professor and Service Chief in the section of Reproduction at the University of Florida and is interested in all aspects of equine reproduction, but has a special interest in problems affecting late pregnancy in the mare. For the past decade, Margo has been unraveling strategies for treating mares with bacterial placentitis.
Margo Macpherson is a Diplomate and past president of the American College of Theriogenologists and is currently is President of the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
